About
I am a Product Design Engineer who hones the skills required to combine creative, aesthetic and technical expertise to design and produce products to appeal to the potential market. I am an enthusiastic, determined and diligent person who takes constructive advice very well. I am able to act on advice given and deliver whatever task is thrown at me. I feel that I carry out any task with a focused mind; therefore, I am driven by any targets that I have to meet.
My long-term goal after university is to make a big impact in design as my goal is to earn, start and develop in a graduate, junior role or internship in user experience and/or user interface design.
My interest in how products are made and how things work grew stronger from the age of fifteen as I started to enjoy learning about the process of how products are produced from creating a design brief to designing ideas for a product to making a model of the product.
Throughout my time at university, I earned the opportunity of peer mentoring first-year students within the Wolfson School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. This has involved sharing my personal past experiences as a first-year student and supporting them in their studies and general university life.
My proudest achievement up to this day will have to be getting on to the committee of Loughborough University’s Nigerian Society, as the former head ambassador of the society. This has involved supporting other committee members in each of their roles, including the events manager, social secretary, promotion and publicity officer and the careers and liaison officers. I promoted the Nigerian Society in an appropriate manner and got our members actively involved in the events. Before the previous year, this society was very small as I helped it grow to become a bigger society now than it once was.
I also participated in the Diversity Mentoring Scheme, where I gained access to Loughborough University alumni from diverse backgrounds as I learnt about different career areas and journeys, got advice and tips from mentors on the scheme about personal and professional development.
